Poetry Workshop at Haven, Avondale

POETRY WORKSHOP supported by I Love Avondale and Manawaka Ao

Adults (18+) are warmly invited to join Danielle Kionasina for a morning of talanoa, creativity and cultural connection. If you are interested in developing your writing skills within a supportive community of creatives, this workshop is for you.

On the day, you will be guided through the healing process of gathering upu (words) that represent your relationship with the moana. With awhi from writer, poet, journalist, artist and kaiako Danielle Kionasina, you will gain confidence in your writing ability and the value of your voice. You will leave with a unique piece of poetry and a deeper understanding of literary devices such as rhyme and metaphor.

Learners of all ability levels are welcome. Wherever you are on your writing journey, you are encouraged to utilise this nourishing space.

When? July 13th, 10.30am-12.30pm
Where? Haven, 1855 Great North Road, Avondale, Auckland 1026
