Chrissy Grumwald - Healer & Kaiako

Chrissy Grumwald is a Tongan/Fijian/Palagi healer, kaiako and māmā. In this chapter of her life, she is teaching as part of a vocational training programme and practising Reiki in her spare time. Her mahi is deeply meaningful to the wellbeing, learning and success of diverse peoples.

Through a Pasifika lens, Chrissy delivers training programmes that are designed to promote literacy and numeracy. But she has found that the learning that occurs within her classroom, penetrates the superficial layers of what we can and cannot do. The relationships that are nurtured are transcendental; straddling the many spaces and challenges that her students experience. Whether the course is about saving to buy a house or writing a CV, there are opportunities for immeasurable transformation.

When Chrissy is away from her classroom, she can be found in her tranquil, spa-like home studio. This space is one that she has curated with peace and regeneration in mind. Chrissy’s greetings and care are like the warmth of your favourite aunty. Her voice is soothing and kind. The whole experience of Reiki under her guidance is like running yourself a hot bath, being tucked into bed and having the ocean wash over you. Comforted and seen, Chrissy’s clients leave feeling grounded in their connections to their ancestors and themselves.

As a healer and kaiako, Chrissy operates independently. Becoming a self-employed contractor has given her the freedom to pick and choose the projects that best align with her values. Furthermore, she is able to prioritise her small business @pasifikawellness. Through teaching and healing, Chrissy is breathing life into her vision of creating sanctuaries that honour people; past lives and potential.
